| Google Wave - my first impressions |
|
So far, does it work, is it stable? Google themselves states, that Wave is still not even in beta state and it indeed is unstable. Well, I have not noticed any bugs yet (within those 30 minutes of discovering and testing Google Wave). Unfortunately, controlling Google Wave seems not to be that easy. But as always, you need to get used to things, and so do you in case of Google Wave. Google Wave can be executed in browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Unfortunately Opera cannot run Google Wave properly, as soon as you launch it, you will be presented an error message (at startup of Google wave you are also told about the incompatibility to Opera). Just to mention a few details about Google Wave: At the moment you cannot remove any participants you recently added to a Wave (this is still to come, I guess). Extensions are already available in form of Gadgets and Robots and a combination of both. I assume there are about 3500 Google Wave developers around that work on their own extensions. This is gonna be so BIG!

Finally, my Google Wave invite has arrived in my email inbox this morning. And of course I could not wait and accepted the invite immediately. My first impression of Google Wave was: WOW! There are loads of videos around the web that show Google Wave in detail, but to really recognize the power of this revolutionary project you need to figure it out on your own. Especially the possibilities to create Google Wave extensions might offer a great chance for everybody to earn some money and gain financial advantages!
